Nonprofits need to have an online presence. This is especially true for nonprofits that wish to collect cash donations or receive grant funding. A website gives your organization legitimacy and provides a way to share your mission and accomplishments.

Postach.io is an easy, affordable way to create a website. Postach.io is a blogging platform that creates a blog by publishing notes stored in the note-taking app Evernote.

Postach.io offers free and premium plans. The free version allows you to create a single blog site. The premium version ($50/year at the time of this posting) gives you some additional features, including the ability to add multiple authors and password protect your site.

A premium account also allows you to publish up to five blogs **through your Postach.io account.  A free account may be all you need, but at $50/year, Postach.io premium is very affordable and could be a good option for nonprofits wishing to create temporary websites for specific events.

On the Evernote side, you can sign up for either a free basic account or a paid premium account. The benefit of an Evernote premium account is that it offers higher storage limits. However, you don’t need a premium account to use Postach.io. You can launch your blog using Evernote’s free basic account and upgrade to a premium account if you find you need more storage.

The YouTube video below produced by Postach.io will give you an idea of how the Postach.io–Evernote connection works.

Advantages of Postach.io

There are several advantages to using Postach.io to create a blog.

If you already use Evernote, Postach.io blogging will be effortless. All you need to do is register for a Postach.io account, link your Postach.io account to Evernote, create a folder named “Postach.io” in Evernote, and write and format your notes like you usually do. When you’re ready to publish a blog post, you simply add the tag “published” to each note that you wanted posted to your website.

If you want to share your posts on social media, it’s another easy process: After linking your social media accounts to Postach.io, you add the tag “share” to your note, which will publish an announcement about your post on Facebook and Twitter.

For those new to Evernote, there will be a learning curve to master the basics of Evernote. However, for most people, mastering the basics of Evernote will be far easier than mastering one of the popular website builders like Wix or Weebly.

Other advantages of a Postach.io blog include:

Disadvantages of Postach.io

Postach.io has some great features, but like any blogging platform, it also has some downsides.

Formatting Issues

One thing that can be tricky with Postach.io is that you can’t preview a post before you publish it. Your published note will look similar to your Evernote note, but it will not be identical. The biggest issue is spacing.
